Getting samples through customs cleanly
A parcel marked "samples" doesn't automatically arrive duty-free β every country has its own rules on what counts as a sample and what value clears without charge. Marking goods correctly on the commercial invoice, using an honest value, and knowing the destination's threshold is what keeps samples moving without a surprise bill for your buyer.
We prepare the commercial invoice, mark genuine samples appropriately (for example "commercial sample β not for resale" where that applies), apply the correct HS codes, and flag when the destination's rules mean duty is likely so there are no surprises.
When you need a Carnet instead
If you are sending high-value samples that must come back β display models, demo equipment, or items for a trade show β a temporary-export route is usually better than a normal sample shipment. An ATA Carnet lets goods go abroad and return without paying import duty at each border, which suits reusable samples and exhibition stock.
Tell us whether the samples are being given away or need to return, and we will recommend the right route β a straightforward sample shipment, or a Carnet-backed temporary export.
