Why Dubai is a re-export hub
Re-export means importing goods into the UAE and then exporting them again, rather than consuming them locally. Dubai's location, ports and free zones make it one of the world's leading re-export centres β goods can sit in a free zone with duty suspended and then move onward to their final market.
How a re-export is handled depends on where the goods are: sitting in a free zone (duty-suspended), or already cleared to the mainland. Each route has its own customs treatment, and getting the paperwork right is what keeps the goods moving and the duty position clean.
What we handle for you
We collect from your free-zone unit or mainland premises, prepare the re-export and customs documentation, and route the consignment to its onward destination β single or multiple. Where goods are moving out of a free zone we handle the gate pass and exit process (see free zone shipping).
Re-export rules and any duty drawback depend on the goods, their origin and the route, so we confirm the correct treatment for your consignment before shipping. For the UAE side, the authority is Dubai Customs.
