What you need before you start
- Receiver’s full name, address, phone and identity details requested by the carrier
- Itemised commercial or pro forma invoice
- Proof of purchase/payment or reasonable used value evidence
- Exact item, quantity, material, model and country of origin
- Importer and permit details for commercial or regulated goods
Personal parcel or commercial import?
A few personal items for an individual and stock imported for resale do not follow the same process. Quantity, value, repetition and the nature of the goods can indicate commercial use. Describe the real transaction and confirm the entry route with the carrier before booking.
What the invoice should say
Use specific descriptions and realistic values. “One used Lenovo laptop, model…, battery installed” is useful; “gift” or “personal items” is not. Include currency, quantity, country of origin, sender, receiver and reason for shipment. The receiver should be able to support the declared value.
Products that may need more than courier paperwork
Medicines, food, cosmetics, telecoms equipment, batteries, chemicals and other regulated products may need an approval from the relevant Pakistani authority. Carrier acceptance and customs admissibility are separate checks.
If customs asks for documents
Reply promptly through a verified carrier channel and ask for the exact missing document or assessment. Keep the tracking number and copies of every submission. Do not pay an unofficial individual account; request a formal customs or carrier breakdown.

| Origin | Affects tariff treatment |
| Permit | Required for some controlled products |
